Rev. Al Sharpton Convicted of Disorderly Conduct
In New York a Criminal Court Judge issued the verdict Wednesday against Mr. Sharpton. He and about 250 others had protested the police killing of Sean Bell on his wedding day.
The claim was they were arrested for the public roadways that included blocking bridges, tunnels and intersections. Previously, the majority of the cases were dismissed, but Mr. Sharpton and his co-defendants had insisted on a trial and insisting the protests were peaceful.
However, the judge did not agree and sentenced them to time served as the Rev. Sharpton has already served 5 1/2 hours in jail. Reported by ap.google.com.
